GENERAL EXPERIENCE: I have worked both as a computer programmer and a chemist in my professional career. I have a very good understanding of mathematics. I can explain difficult points in a comprehensible manner. I am very aware of the fact that lack of mathematical proficiency can be a serious detriment to pursuing many careers, especially scientific careers. It is very fulfilling to see a student be able to master the concepts and gain insights into the subject. The students I have previously tutored all have been at the middle school or high school level. I am well capable of tutoring calculus.

APPROACH TO TUTORING: One of my first priorities initially is to make the student feel comfortable with me. I am a relaxed easy going person. I want the student to feel relaxed but focused on the subject material. It is my job to explain subject material. Usually this focuses on subject material that is causing the student difficulty. I help the student with problem solving strategies. I offer many learning tips and insights to the student that I have accumulated over my academic and professional career. Every student is different so I do my best to discover what approach is best for the particular student I am tutoring. Self confidence is very important for the student. I strive to build up self confidence by successful mastery of the subject matter.
