GENERAL EXPERIENCE: I attended the University of Minnesota on academic scholarship, where I graduated with a B.S. in Mathematics from the Institute of Technology. While attending school, I became well versed in numerous subject areas as I began my career in Pre-Med before moving on to Math. From there I delved into the science of numbers and found my passion. Expounding upon that, I began to teach my peers who would come for help, and thus sparking my career in tutoring. Having excelled in subjects such as Physics and Chemistry, I was able to provide a wide range of topics that I could effectively procure clear and understandable solutions.
Currently, I am working as an Algebra tutor for a middle school student in Edina, where I meet with him a couple times a week to provide assistance in test prep, homework, and organizational skills.

APPROACH TO TUTORING: As a tutor, style is not a ubiquitous characteristic. Each student needs a specifically tailored approach to get the best out of their abilities. While some students may learn from rote memorization and practice, others may want to view the subject from a more theoretical approach. Most students do not fall securely on either side of the spectrum, so delicate balance between the two needs to be sought in order to clearly portray a subject that is initially fooling the student. Here is where my sense of intuition, sprouting from years of college coursework will come in handy.
All students have the ability to succeed, it just takes the right approach to make something clear. When they find this, it is the most rewarding part of the job.
