GENERAL EXPERIENCE: I have taught biology and especially microbiology, genetics and molecular biology for the last seven years. Being part of an academic environment also gave me access to other fields of biology through academic seminars. I consider myself broadly educated with an open mind. Should you require some practice in German, I can provide that too as a native German speaker in either tutoring or conversation.

APPROACH TO TUTORING: Biology is a field that is often confusing due to the great diversity and therefore a myriad of information and details. Acquiring that knowledge is often required to succeed. However, there are guiding principles and the big picture that I always try to help the student to be aware of. I also strongly believe that learning and understanding are most successful, if the students find their own way of understanding the material and not just regurgitate information. I try to help the student to develop their own thought process to understand the material.
