GENERAL EXPERIENCE:     I have always had the gift of having things come easily to me. I don't believe I am any more intelligent then others, rather it seems I can look at things in a manner which makes them easier to understand. I tutored four years in college while I worked towards double majors in Physics and Religion and a minor in Math. Tutoring is the most fulfilling activity I can think of as I love helping others experience a "light bulb" moment when what their struggling with finally clicks. While working towards my Master degree, I refined my teaching style and gained valuable knowledge in education. Additionally, I have spent the last four years working with kids virtually every day in a religious setting. I enjoy building relationships and empowering others with power education provides.
APPROACH TO TUTORING:    When tutoring, I'm always trying to move the student towards a feeling of empowerment. I've found that often when one struggles in a subject it creates a sense of anxiety. This anxiety can create a block which makes it difficult for the child to learn. I work to eliminate this sense of anxiety, create confidence in the student, which ultimately leads to empowerment. Once a youth has learned to learn, the entire world is unlocked to them. I am a relational person, I believe that motivation and confidence is most easily built through relationships with someone who genuinely cares and desires the student's success. I hope to be that person in others lives.
