GENERAL EXPERIENCE: I will need more than 300 words to completely describe these areas! Overall, I have been a tutor, teacher or a combination of both for nearly 10 years.
In regard to tutoring, my experience includes tutoring in the Wayzata school district while I earned my first MN license to teach; beginning a peer tutoring program in the Anoka Hennepin school district and "freelance" tutoring in English, math (up to Algebra 1), writing and all branches of social studies.
I hold current teaching licenses in special education and social studies. Currently, I'm researching and writing a research paper. This paper is the last requirement for my M.Ed. in special education. Additionally, with this curriculum, I "minored" in middle school philosophy and practice.

APPROACH TO TUTORING: (Gardner) Multiple Intelligences and real world application are two of my primary methods. I encourage students to explore the world outside of the classroom. To me, the "real" world and the academic world must intersect in order for students' education to be complete. I encourage students to figure out their strongest "intelligence(s)," as well as others that are their weakest. Then, I worked with the assignments to strengthen both through classroom assignments and activities.
As for myself, I think I am an existentialist type of teacher.
