GENERAL EXPERIENCE: I love school tremendously, and this last year has been challenging for me because I have had to take a sabbatical from the schooling that I love. I love the spirit and the intellectual challenge that comes with academic debate, and history has been one of my passions since I was a little child. For me it is all about the rediscovery of the past. It is about looking into the past and seeing the connections to our present world. I have worked my way through college ever since I have left High school. I have paid my way through school with my own blood and sweat. I have worked for Sears as a Merchandise pick Up associate. It was warehouse work, and it was
definitely a lesson in blood sweat and tears. I am currently working in Security at St Luke's Hospital. This is a job that takes a lot of patients and focus to deal with all kinds of people in a Emergency room setting. I tutored in High school through a volunteer program. I taught computer basic computer operating skills to senior citizens. It was a great exercise for patients and to hone my listening skills. I also did one on one tutoring in college as well. I tutored many of my fellow classmates through my European and Middle Eastern history classes. I was often the student who would set up study groups in the library to go over all of the days lessons. I am passionate and driven toward my goal, and I do not intend to let my small set back get me off of that track that I have worked so hard to build for my self.

APPROACH TO TUTORING: My tutoring style in trying to make the student see how what they are learning can be relevant to them and their lives. To me education should not simply be about repetition of facts and dates. I think that knowledge should lead to a better person, and that the best way to do that is to show the student how any subject no matter what it may be can better and enrich their lives in many ways. There is no student who can not learn what I presented to them, and if it comes down to them needing extra help with any part of their studies I as a Tudor need to be there to help that student.
