GENERAL EXPERIENCE: I am extremely passionate about math and education. As a student I excelled in math but it did not always come easy to me and that is why I make a great tutor. I know where students will struggle because I did at one point and I know how to get them through their struggles because I understand where they are coming from. I truly enjoy working with students and helping them succeed. I was a recruiter for the program Teach For America and will become a secondary math teacher through their program next fall because I believe in their ideals that all students deserve an excellent education, and all students can succeed when they are held to the highest expectations.

APPROACH TO TUTORING: I like to tutor/teach in the "I do, we do, you do" style. This means that I will teach the student by explaining and showing examples, then I will work through problems and coursework with them, then I will give them the opportunity to work on their own. It is most important to me to invest the students in their learning so that they want to do it, and to convince them that they will succeed with hard work. I hold students to high expectations but I am also approachable and easy to talk to. I will make sure that students have measurable goals in mind and we will celebrate when they attain those goals.
