GENERAL EXPERIENCE: I am a first class degree laureate in chemical engineering and hold a PhD in that field. I have been a university professor with over 20 years experience in academia, research and industry, an author of an engineering textbook and a patent-holding inventor of a revolutionary technological
process. Twice I was elected to chair my department of chemical engineering at the University of Science and Technology, Kumasi, Ghana. Most of my research work has been published in peer reviewed journals and I have been extensively consulted on industrial challenges and have actually participated in designing, construction and running of industrial/production processes.
Though most of my classroom work has been at the graduate and undergraduate levels, I have always had a passion for tutoring at the college level since, I believe, a good performance at the university depends on a sound foundation at
college. I have therefore, voluntarily, handled many classes in mathematics, physics and chemistry at the college level. I also served as an external examiner to some colleges and as a moderator to their examinations.
I also have a very diversified and rich socio-cultural and educational background, with educational experiences in Asia,
Africa, Europe and in the USA, and speak more than four languages, including English, Russian and some
French; an experience that gives me an edge in dealing with students of very diverse socio- cultural backgrounds.

APPROACH TO TUTORING: My approach to teaching is buttressed on the
philosophy that any normal healthy individual can excel in any of our contemporary subjects studied in
schools. The differences in performance arise due to the extent to which individuals` interest are aroused to the subjects or motivated to like the subject,
especially at the introductory stage. To me, therefore, abilities do not differ much from one individual to the other but interests
do. The most critical role of a tutor therefore is not to
pressurize, or force a student to work hard on a subject, but to find a way to motivate or arouse his/her interest for the subject to the extent that
studying that subject become fun and important in the life of the
student. Where there is interest, love develops and excellence follows
naturally. I am not talking theory here, but giving evidence to a reality in my own life experience and as a tutor for nearly a quarter of a
century. Since interest differ from an individual to the other, the most successful tutor will be the one who can discover where a
student's interest lie, and develop and direct it to a given
subject. This is both an art and a science, requiring character and experience and, I believe, I can humbly submit that I have
them. To me therefore, there are no weak students. No!
