  GENERAL EXPERIENCE:     I have had experience as a volunteer, teaching other students in French, geography, various math classes, history, geography, physical science, English composition, and music. I am good at finding alternate ways to explain things to find a point of reference that makes sense to the learner. I have good patience, and I am willing to work until sufficient progress has been made.
  APPROACH TO TUTORING:    I like to start from the beginning at the conceptual level and make sure the student understands the theory behind what they are doing. This is especially useful in math subjects where students get into a rut of crunching numbers through applying a memorized process. Then, I like to have the student demonstrate what they already know or know how to do, so we can avoid too much repetition. Finally, I make some assignments and watch to see what areas are causing trouble, so we can spend more time on those areas.
