  GENERAL EXPERIENCE:     I began tutoring while obtaining my degree in biology. I worked as a Teacher's Assistant in the biology department, helping with labs and answering student's questions. I also served as a math tutor over the summer while I was on break during college. Although I have not been able to use my science degree since I graduated, science is still my passion in life. I would like the opportunity to use my knowledge to help motivate students and give them the confidence they need to pursue the sciences in higher education. I have always thought about pursuing a career as a teacher and would like to use this opportunity to see if it is still a career I am interested in. I have a couple of areas of expertise; 1)topics in the biological sciences ranging from general biology to biochemistry, neurobiology, physiology, and cellular and molecular biology; 2) General chemistry and Organic Chemistry 3) I also have experience tutoring college level Algebra.
  APPROACH TO TUTORING:    My approach to tutoring is that all students have the ability to learn and perform well in the classroom, but they may have not experienced a teacher who uses the correct style to bring out the best in a student. Reviewing information and material many different times is the best way to understand and remember difficult concepts. I believe that having a younger tutor who is able to better relate to students will have an easier job of connecting with students and helping them regain their confidence.
