  GENERAL EXPERIENCE:     I will use my "Strengths Finder Assessment" to best describe my talents in regards to tutoring. My "Top 5" strengths are as follows: Communication: People strong in the Communication theme generally find it easy to put their thoughts into words. They are good conversationalists and presenters. Woo: People strong in the Woo theme love the challenge of meeting new people and winning them over. They derive satisfaction from breaking the ice and making a connection with another person. Activator: People strong in the Activator theme can make things happen by turning thoughts into action. Empathy: People strong in the Empathy theme can sense the feelings of other people by imagining themselves in others' lives or others' situations. Command: People strong in the Command theme have presence. They can take control of a situation and make decisions. Interestingly, four of the five descriptors above are in the domains "influencing and assisting others". I think that makes for an ideal tutoring opportunity!
  APPROACH TO TUTORING:    I feel a mastery of the subject material, an in depth understanding of the student's knowledge of the material at hand, and the ability to present it in a simple way, best describes my approach to tutoring. My past students would tell you that not only did I help them academically, but also inspired them to have a positive feeling towards learning.
