  GENERAL EXPERIENCE:     I am highly qualified to tutor students in Biology or in health care management applications. In addition to a bachelor's degree in Biology I hold two master's degrees, one in Health Administration and one in health informatics. On national Praxis exams I scored above average on the Biology qualifying exams, and scored an Excellent rating in Principles of Learning and Teaching. I worked more than 8 years in higher education as a faculty/research associate in the health management field. I can tutor you in the content area, but can also provide you with test-taking strategies that will enhance your success. I have worked with young people at both the University of Minnesota and at high school (Lakeville South High School) as they worked through research projects and coursework. I would be very glad to assist you in your studies. I speak English only but am sensitive to the needs of English learners if that is needed, since I've traveled abroad, and worked with persons of many nationalities at the University.
  APPROACH TO TUTORING:    I am a very hands- on tutor. I will work with you and the curriculum presently used at your school to promote your personal success. I will also bring in various web and education modalities to clarify areas of issue. I devise a plan for approaching each chapter or course unit, and keep you on track. I know how to design assessment methods -- practice quizzes, discussions and written format-- that will tell me where you stand and what you understand about the critical topics. I will then design custom solutions for your needs. I truly enjoy working one-on-one with students as we develop a My favorite age group is teenagers, but I'm also capable of helping middle schoolers and young adults/ college students.
