GENERAL EXPERIENCE: I am seeking a Spanish tutoring position because of my passion for the Spanish language and because I enjoy helping individuals. I have a Minor in Spanish from the University of WI - Eau Claire. In undergrad I studied abroad in Mexico & Spain and have spent about 2 years total in Spanish speaking countries. My mother is from Mexico and my maternal family all lives in Mexico. Although I have no official degree in teaching, I feel as if I am an effective communicator and could help others learn Spanish. Throughout my professional and academic experience, I have used Spanish extensively. I am confident that I would be a successful tutor.

APPROACH TO TUTORING: My tutoring style is determined my the learning style of the student. I believe everyone is capable of learning another language but the method is crucial. A student must be confident in their learning ability, which requires encouragement and positive reinforcement from the tutor. Also, the student must be interested in the material and it must be relevant to them. One student may prefer memorizing vocabulary and learning grammar; another may prefer to start with basic conversation, etc.
